Soap on a rope

Many people today do not use soap on a rope.  This is something that is generally seen as from times past, or if it is used today, it is generally used for children.  Soap on a rope is a great idea, and can be useful to anyone and everyone.
So, what is the purpose of soap on a rope?  It is useful in the shower, simply because of the nature of it.  Traditional bar soap gets slippery and will often slip out of your hands while showering.  With soap on a rope, this will not happen.  The purpose of the rope is to put it around your wrist, or even at times, you neck.  This will keep the soap from slipping out of your hands and possibly wreaking havoc in your shower.  Once a bar of soap has been dropped, it is unfortunately easy to slip on and hurt yourself.
Many times these days, when soap on a rope is purchased, it is as a gag gift for a friend.  More and more people are learning the great benefits of soap on a rope, but it is still seen as silly to many.
Soap on a rope is also a great option for those who do not have the physical capability to bend over and grab the soap, if it does slip.  Many elderly people, people with back problems, and even pregnant women are now deciding that having a length of rope to hold on to, rather than just a slippery bar of soap, is the best way to go when showering.
